What I Got (out of) Getting (in) Mike Rowe’s Pants

Getting (in) Mike Rowe’s Pants has been anything but disappointing.

The ‘Package” has been delivered…

What I Got (out of) Getting (in) Mike Rowe's Pants

I have taken 8 pair of Mike’s pants and turned them into a Bounty. A Bounty for the sole purpose to raise money for mikeroweWORKS!

Getting (in) Mike Rowe's Pants...the Bounty The Quilt Cabinet

This project has proven to be incredible. Thank you to Mike Rowe and his followers, it could not have happened without you!

Who knows what will come of this? I certainly do not!

To date, the C.R.A.P is at the office. I am not sure where Mike is, but I am pretty sure I will be hearing from him when he receives my ‘package.’ Or not. He would be much better at this than I. I loved the photo he posted with him prior to him sending me his ‘package.’ It can be viewed on FB, Mike Rowe. And check out those legs while you are there.

What I Got (out of) Getting (in) Mike Rowe's PantsHow did I do that? There must have been Magic in those pants. Can you imagine all of the things those pants have been through? Just the inspiration they provided me.

I also became a fan~a groupie, if you will~my friends became followers…Mike, you certainly are worth following. Each day of this project provided me with joy. I got to walk around town saying “I got in Mike Rowe’s Pants,” and for those who did not know who you were…they do now. You are easy to sell…LOL…I had a grin from ear to ear…keep doing what you do. I know I have joined your entourage…You have a great group of people. I am proud to be one!

Oh, and you are not off the hook quite yet. I have developed a pattern for a lighter weight quilt. It would require your shirt and pants~I will get you naked yet…for all your followers to enjoy. And I will be donating the quilt for you to auction off for mikeroweWORKS! Another win-win.

And now we wait for the auction. I have no doubt the opportunity to Get (in) Mike Rowe’s Pants will be worth a pretty penny…

We will be posting information as we get it…

In the meantime…I have been working behind the scenes on my site. Here is a new image I have created. What do you think?

I think there is a picture posted that reveals the back on the auction site. You can see one corner of it anyway…The back is plain, no fringe.

Mike Rowe’s video was posted on one of my FB quilting groups. What a wonderful project! However, he only showed the front of the quilt. What did you use for the back? (My favorite? The zipper roses!)

Each block is constructed with 2 squares of denim. You pull up both raw edges to make the ‘fringe’ on the front. The back is plain squares.

Well done! I just saw Mike’s video on Facebook. And the bidding is already over $4500 for the quilt. As I said, well done!

Hi! Just wanted to tell you I think it is great (and FUN) that you were able to get into Mike’s pants and be able to help out his foundation. I am the wife of someone who works in an industry where nobody wants to step in and learn the trade as the older generation is leaving. Mike is doing such a fantastic job helping industries like this. Thanks again, and you really made some cute stuff!
